Trump Opens Possibility of Flying to Pakistan to Sign US-Iran Deal

JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump on Thursday expressed confidence that an agreement could be reached soon to end the Iran war.

Trump said the next meeting between the United States and Iran could take place over the weekend and a two-week extension of the ceasefire was possible.

"But an extension of the ceasefire may not be necessary because the Mullah State wants an agreement," he said.

"We'll see what happens. But I think we're very close to making a deal with Iran," he told reporters outside the White House, adding that if an agreement is reached and signed in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, he might go there for the event, Al Arabiya reported (17/4).

"I'm going to Pakistan, yes. Pakistan is very great," he told reporters.

"If an agreement is signed in Islamabad, I might go, they want me," he said.

Hours later while in Las Vegas, President Trump went further, saying the war "should end immediately."
