PGN Group Wins PROPER EMAS and GREEN 2025 Awards, Proof of Consistency in Social and Environmental Innovation
JAKARTA - As a Subholding of Pertamina Gas, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN) has once again demonstrated its consistency in carrying out business operations that prioritize environmental preservation and community empowerment. For this concrete step, the PGN Group managed to win four Gold and five Green PROPER at the PROPER Environment Award 2025 held by the Ministry of Environment (KLH) at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Jakarta, Tuesday, April 7.
PROPER Gold is the highest ranking in the PROPER Award for consistent social and environmental management and innovation (CSR) that has a major impact on the community and is sustainable. The list of PGN Group that received PROPER Gold:

Meanwhile, the Green PROPER is given for environmental management that goes beyond what is required in the regulations (beyond compliance). The list of PGN Group that received Green PROPER:

The Minister of LH / Head of BPLH, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, emphasized that PROPER is a transformation engine that encourages companies not only to obey, but to go beyond obedience through innovation, resource efficiency, and real contributions to society. This transformation is an important foundation for the future of the national industry, where economic growth, environmental sustainability, and community welfare go in one direction that is inseparable.
"The PROPER Gold and Green obtained this year is proof of the consistency of the PGN Group not only focusing on national energy resilience, but also being dedicated to reducing emissions, energy efficiency, environmental preservation and community independence around the operational area. We believe that the sustainability of the natural gas business must run in harmony with the sustainability of the surrounding ecosystem," said PGN President Director Arief Kurnia Risdianto, in his statement, Friday, April 17.
This achievement is of course also supported by various flagship innovations in helping people to be more empowered and self-reliant economically by optimizing the results of the earth in the environment, skill training programs for the community, and the development of creative economy based on clean energy.
One of the Gold PROPER awards was given to the Pagardewa Gas Compressor Station in South Sumatra thanks to the innovative program Pesona Tani Dewa (Sustainable, Optimal, and Adaptive Agriculture of Pagardewa Farmers) which was implemented in Pagardewa Village, Lubai Ulu, Muara Enim, South Sumatra. This program is a solution to the low income of rubber farmers, declining productivity of the garden and the threat of land fires.
In addition, Pertagas OKA, one of Pertagas' operating areas, is implementing various innovations in sustainable environmental management. The innovations carried out are PERSOFEXT (Personal Fire Extinguisher) which is able to reduce water consumption by 4m³, the WTP Distribution Pipe Innovation of Karya Jaya village which has reduced waste accumulation by 0.01038 Tons, and Industrial Wipes as a substitute for jute cloth which can reduce B3 waste accumulation by 34.2 kg per year.
