Hiu to Kiluan, Lampung Develops Integrated Tourism to Attract Tourists

LAMPUNG - The development of the tourism sector is one of the important strategies in encouraging regional economic growth, including in the Province of Lampung.

With planned and integrated management, the existing tourism potential not only attracts tourist visits, but is also able to open up new business opportunities for the surrounding community, ranging from accommodation to creative economic products.

In this case, the Lampung Provincial Government is also trying to develop an integrated tourism area in Tanggamus Regency and the surrounding area to optimize existing potential. This area is considered to have a variety of attractions that can be developed sustainably.

Acting Head of the Lampung Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Office, Tony Ferdiansyah, said that one of the flagship destinations in the area is Gigi Hiu, which is known for its unique limestone landscape.

"In Tanggamus Regency and its surroundings, there are many tourism potentials, one of which is the Gigi Hiu destination which is interesting to be visited by tourists and has the potential for tourism development with special interests," he said in Bandarlampung, as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 17.

To support this development, the government plans to establish an integrated tourism cluster which covers the area from Kiluan Negeri to Kota Agung with a length of around 60 kilometers. This plan will be finalized through coordination with the district government and related stakeholders.

"This tourist destination will be managed from the Kiluan Negeri area to Kota Agung, about 60 kilometers for the integrated tourist area," explained Tony.

Along the area, there are various tourism potentials that can be developed, ranging from natural photo spots such as Shark Teeth, marine tourism, to historic buildings in the form of ancient houses. In addition, plans to provide lodging and homestays in residents' homes are also being considered to increase the appeal of tourism, while empowering local communities.

The area around Tanggamus, such as Pesawaran Regency, also has a number of equally interesting destinations, such as Wayang Island, Kelagian Island, Hantu Bay, to Kiluan Beach which is famous for its natural beauty.

Not only relying on natural beauty, the development of the creative economy sector is also an important part of this plan. Various subsectors, such as handicrafts and souvenirs, have the potential to be developed along the tourist route by involving local communities.

In addition, the government is also encouraging the strengthening of tourist villages in a number of potential locations. The plan to develop tourist villages in Kiluan, Wayang Island, and Teluk Hantu is expected to strengthen the role of the community in tourism management.

Tony emphasized the importance of the role of the tourist awareness group (Pokdarwis) in supporting the success of the program. "It is recommended that the district government continue to activate the tourist awareness group in locations with tourism potential," he said.

Through the development of this integrated tourist area, it is hoped that the Lampung tourism sector can develop more optimally while providing sustainable economic benefits for the surrounding community.
