400 Hajj Officers Departed, Government Emphasizes Maximum Service

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah RI Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak asked the Hajj service officers (PPIH) who departed for the Holy Land to begin the 1447 H/2026 M Hajj mission by dedicating themselves to serving Indonesian pilgrims.

"Dedicate yourself completely to fulfilling your duties in the Holy Land. This is a holy mission, not only for yourself, but also for your family and religion," said Dahnil after the briefing and release of Hajj officers at the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, Jakarta, quoted by Antara Friday, April 17.

A total of around 400 Hajj officers were sent as an initial team to ensure the readiness of services for pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. They are on duty in the Madinah Working Area (Daker) and the Airport.

Dahnil emphasized that the officers were the spearhead of the success of the 2026 hajj pilgrimage, so they were asked to prepare optimally mentally, physically, and spiritually.

"We entrust the state, from Allah SWT, and from the pilgrims. The success of this year's hajj depends very much on your performance," he said.

He also reminded the characteristics of Indonesian pilgrims, ranging from those who meet the aspects of istithaah to elderly and high-risk pilgrims. Many of them set off with great sacrifices.

"Some sell land, rice fields, even save their whole life. The spirit of the Indonesian congregation is extraordinary, don't betray that trust," said Dahnil.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah ensured that the departure of Hajj officers was carried out gradually. After the initial team, the Daker Makkah officers will be sent on April 22-24, 2026 to prepare for the continuation of services.

The first batch of pilgrims is scheduled to depart on April 22, 2026, while the Amirul Hajj is planned to depart on May 19, 2026.
