PAM Jaya Shares 270 Free Toren in Jakut, Targeting Residents with Low Water Pressure
JAKARTA - PAM Jaya has resumed the free water tower distribution program for Jakarta residents. Entering the third phase, as many as 270 towers were distributed to the public in the North Jakarta area.
The distribution was carried out at the Angke Interactive RPTRA, Penjaringan District, Wednesday, April 15. This program targets residents who are still facing the problem of low water pressure and limited water storage facilities.
Previously, PAM Jaya had distributed 100 towers in the Padamulya, Angke, West Jakarta area in January 2026. Then, 150 towers were distributed to Kamal Village, Kalideres, in February 2026.
In this third phase, assistance is focused on a number of points in North Jakarta, including Dewa Ruci, Kelapa Gading, Muara Karang, Sunter, and Yos Sudarso. The most distribution is carried out in the Muara Karang area.
PAM Jaya Operations Director Syahrul Hasan said this program was a short-term solution for residents who had not enjoyed optimal water services.
"The distribution of free water towers is a short-term solution for residents in areas with low water pressure. We continue to strive to increase service coverage through infrastructure development and a new free connection program for people who meet the criteria," said Syahrul, Thursday, April 16.
He admitted that there were still many residents of Jakarta who had to buy water because they did not have adequate storage facilities. This condition makes daily water needs not fully guaranteed.
According to Syahrul, collaboration with the DKI Jakarta PKK TP is one step to reach the most needy groups of people, especially at the household level.
"We will continue to improve collaboration with TP PKK DKI Jakarta. With this water tower, mothers can take care of their families well because water needs are met. This collaboration is proof that synergy can have a direct impact on community welfare," he said.
This program is a follow-up to the cooperation between the DKI Jakarta PKK TP and PAM Jaya Women's Power in distributing social assistance for residents. Throughout 2026, PAM Jaya targets the distribution of 2,000 water towers with a capacity of 300 liters throughout Jakarta.
The target of this program is simple households, especially customers of certain categories with limited building area.
One of the beneficiaries, Apsiah, admitted that the assistance was very helpful for his family's daily needs.
"The price of this tower is also very expensive if you buy it. Thank God, I got it for free. Now we can store water when there is a flow, so daily needs are more secure," he said.
In addition to the symbolic handover, this activity was also filled with a direct review of the homes of residents who have received and installed the tower. Through this program, PAM Jaya is trying to expand access to clean water while closing the service gap in areas that have not been optimally reached.
