JAKARTA - The Regional Office (Kanwil) of the Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjenpas) Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) has transferred a resident (prisoner/napi) for being caught hanging out in a coffee shop, the former MTQ Kendari area, to Nusakambangan Prison.
Head of the South Sulawesi Regional Office of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Sulardi, confirmed the transfer of the inmate in the corruption case (Tipikor) named Supriadi to Nusakambangan.
"It has arrived at NK (Nusakambangan)," said Sulardi as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, April 16.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Kendari Class IIA Penitentiary (Lapas), Mukhtar, said that his party received the transfer of the inmates on the day, when he was found in a coffee shop.
"After the viral incident, the inmates were immediately escorted from the detention center to Kendari Prison after Maghrib, on Tuesday (14/4)," said Mukhtar.
He revealed that when he arrived at the Kendari Class IIA Prison, his party immediately took action by placing Supriadi in an isolation cell for security.
Mukhtar explained that at the direction of his leadership, his party had also sent the convicts in the Tipikor case to Nusakambangan Prison, on Thursday (16/4) morning.
"One of the actions we take against inmates who do commit serious violations, there are already such consequences, we follow the leadership's directions as to what we are implementing," explained Mukhtar.
Previously, the Kendari Detention Center conducted an intensive examination of an officer who went viral for escorting a tipikor inmate with the initials S to a coffee shop in Kendari, South Sulawesi Province.
Acting Head of the Kendari Class II A Prison, La Ode Mustakim, said the inmate officially left to attend a review trial (PK) at the Kendari District Court at 09.00 WITA.
"The person concerned left based on a summons to the trial and was escorted by one of our officers. However, there was a problem during the return trip to the detention center after the trial," said Mustakim.
Supriadi is a convicted corruption case in the mining sector when he served as Head of the Kolaka Class III KUPP and was sentenced to five years in prison.
