Teddy Soeria Atmadja Almost Made "Luka Makan Cinta" a Movie, Now a Series

JAKARTA - Director Teddy Soeria Atmadja is the creator for the Netflix original series titled Luka Makan Cinta. He revealed that this series was originally projected to be a big screen film.

"Actually, this story was originally designed for a feature film, but after I saw it, I tried to design it more for a series. After being broken into 8 episodes, the story is getting interesting. The story is about a mother and child who have not connected. That dynamic makes me interesting, plus the setting in a restaurant kitchen that they manage and it adds to the flavor," said Teddy Soeria Atmadja in a press conference in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, April 15.

Not only family, Teddy also focuses on the culinary side and the world of fine dining that will highlight Indonesian food in a different presentation.

"After watching Luka Makan Cinta, it's about human connection between mother and son and daughter. Very much human connect but because the universe we build in a fancy restaurant with interesting plating," he continued.

One aspect that the creators hope the audience can highlight is the artistic presentation that comes from the food in this series. Especially the Luka Makan Cinta series which is set in a fine dining restaurant run by a mother and child.

"Preparing the kitchen is different so you have to learn to cut ducks but the way you hold the knife is the way. From the cameraman, the artistic team, it's a team of preparation and cameraman, I have to know where the food angle is taken," continued Teddy.

"In addition to crew preparation, during filming, we are accompanied by a food stylist so that it does not look fresh or the way of cutting is wrong, he can help take an angle from here," explained Teddy again.

The series "Luka Makan Cinta" tells the story of Luka (Mawar Eva), the son of the owner of Umah Rasa - Sari (Sha Ine Febriyanti) who hopes that the position of head chef will fall to him. Everything changes after Dennis (Deva Mahenra) takes over the head chef of the Umah Rasa restaurant.

With 8 episodes, the series Luka Makan Cinta can be watched on Netflix.
