Harassment Case Revealed, Head of BPM FH UI Resigns and Board Members are Frozen
JAKARTA - The Chairman of the Student Representative Body (BPM) of FH UI Javier Hattaguna Hartawan decided to resign from his position. This resignation was the result of the revelation of the case of sexual harassment of students of the Faculty of Law at the University of Indonesia (FH UI) through a group chat.
Javier's resignation statement was delivered in a post on the BPM FH UI Instagram account.
"I took this decision as a moral responsibility by considering the developing dynamics and in order to maintain the atmosphere and continuity of the organization so that the BPM FH UI can continue to run optimally in accordance with the values, ethics, integrity, and basic guidelines of the UI Faculty of Law Student Family Association," wrote the BPM FH UI quoted by VOI.ID, Thursday, April 16.
In his statement, Javier said that this resignation decision was taken as a moral responsibility by considering the developing dynamics and in order to maintain the organization's conductivity and sustainability.
"I apologize to all parties, including the FH UI family, if there are things that are not pleasing during the execution of the mandate. I also express my gratitude for the trust and support so far," wrote Javier in the statement.
In response to this, the BPM FH UI then temporarily deactivated the BPM FH UI 2026 administrators by issuing a Decree Number 008/SK/BPMFHUI/IV/2026 regarding the Temporary Deactivation of the BPM FH UI Administrators.
