LIXIL Leads and Facilitates Cross-Sector Collaboration to Create Better Living Space Quality
JAKARTA - The dynamics of development in Indonesia continue to move progressively. The quality of living space is no longer measured only by aesthetic value, but rather how design and technology are able to present a healthier, more comfortable, and relevant experience for the future. In this landscape, the relevant industry players play a strategic role in determining the quality standards of people's lives for the long term.
Understanding this responsibility, LIXIL, a global company that pioneers sustainable water and housing solutions, continues to take an active role as a driving force for change, leading and facilitating the strengthening of the architecture and development ecosystem in Indonesia. The company believes that the improvement of the quality of housing and public spaces can only be achieved when design and technology synergize, complement each other and strengthen each other.
"The principle of mutual cooperation is the foundation of our community in growing and living side by side. The current development progress also depends heavily on the power of ideas and togetherness. Through the spirit of cross-sector collaboration, LIXIL is committed to being a strategic partner that provides space so that we and professionals in this industry can continue to grow together, while supporting the national development agenda in realizing better living space quality for the community," said Arfindi Batubara, Marketing Director, LIXIL Water Technology Indonesia, in his statement, Wednesday, April 15.
Supporting the Industry Through Access to Ideas, Innovation, and Collaborative InitiativesLIXIL not only offers functional solutions, but also opens access to new perspectives and opportunities for professionals in the industry. This commitment is realized through various consistent efforts, ranging from participation in various educational platforms and community discussions, to corporate initiatives that integrate architectural design with technological innovation in the context of real projects.
"Through regular involvement from year to year in various industry events, one of which is ARCH:ID, to our initiation programs such as LADC (LIXIL Architectural Design Competition) and LDAD (LIXIL Day of Architecture and Design), we continue to actively strengthen a platform for related professionals to collaborate and create new standards in the industry ecosystem," explained Arfindi.
As part of its ongoing commitment, LIXIL is again participating in ARCH:ID 2026, the largest architecture event in Indonesia that is a meeting point for architects, developers, interior designers, material manufacturers, and various other supporting parties. On this occasion, LIXIL presents the "OASE: Architecture in the Water Cycle" Pavilion, the result of collaboration with architect Adi Purnomo from Mamostudio and a number of cross-disciplinary experts.
Unlike conventional exhibition installations, which generally only display products and are temporary and at risk of waste, OASE from LIXIL emphasizes the principle of sustainability. All major elements, such as water and plants, are designed to be repurposed as part of supporting components of the landscape for other future projects. In addition, through a research-based approach and collaboration with researchers, this pavilion is ready to become an educational space that invites visitors to engage in a dialogue about the future of architecture and the environment.
"Through a collaborative approach involving many parties, even environmental and social researchers, this pavilion will enrich the visitor's experience in understanding the relationship between water, sanitation, environment, and its development history, especially in urban areas. This project also proves how cross-disciplinary synergy can create 'OASE', both figuratively and literally," said Adi Purnomo, Founder, Mamostudio.
To strengthen its function as a platform for exchanging ideas, the LIXIL Pavilion will also present a series of strategic activities, including "Step into the Oasis" - an open house session on April 23, 2026 which translates the architectural concept and narrative behind the creation of the pavilion. In addition, on April 24, 2026, the Alun-alun Talks will be held with the topic "From Data to Design: Rethinking Architecture Through Environmental Intelligence" which will be an opportunity to discuss directly with experts on how environmental data can be processed into a source of adaptive and solution design inspiration.
Through the presence of this pavilion and series of programs, LIXIL encourages the creation of wider collaboration as well as strengthening the company's commitment to supporting Indonesia's architecture ecosystem which is increasingly adaptive, sustainable, and relevant in answering future challenges.
Sustainability VisionLIXIL's commitment is strengthened through the company's long-term vision, namely LIXIL Environmental Vision 2050, which targets the achievement of carbon neutral business operations, significant water efficiency, and contribution to improving global sanitation access. This vision is the foundation of every innovation and solution developed, including in supporting more sustainable urban architectural design.
"Collaboration is the new standard in the industry. By combining expertise and innovation, we can create living spaces that are not only functional and aesthetic, but also provide a real positive impact on the environment, for today's society and future generations," concluded Arfindi.
