BGN Boss Responds to Public Criticism: 62 Bad Menus Went Viral, Thousands of Other SPPGs Went Well

BOGOR - The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana said that only 62 cases of bad menus went viral from around 25 thousand Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) that operated during Ramadan.

"Of the 25 thousand who walked in Ramadan, 62 produced a menu that was ugly. And it was the ugly menu that went viral," said Dadan at the inauguration of SPPG Cijujung 03 in Cijujung Village, Sukaraja District, Bogor Regency, West Java, Wednesday, April 15, reported by ANTARA.

Dadan emphasized that the majority of SPPGs throughout Indonesia are still running well and providing services according to standards to the community.

He regretted that public attention was more focused on negative cases, while thousands of other SPPGs that were running well did not get attention.

"Even though the 24 thousand of so are good, they are not viral," he said.

According to Dadan, this condition needs to be straightened out so that the public gets a complete picture of the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.

He also invited all parties, including partners and the community, to also convey positive stories from the beneficiaries of the program.

"Please help lift the story of the community benefiting from this nutritious meal program, so that the public knows," he said.

Dadan emphasized that in general, the implementation of SPPG in various regions has provided wide benefits, especially for vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, nursing mothers, and toddlers.

Currently, he continued, the coverage of MBG program beneficiaries has reached around 62 million people throughout Indonesia.

BGN ensures that it will continue to evaluate and monitor to maintain the quality of SPPG services, so that the nutrition fulfillment program can run optimally and sustainably.

He added that the role of partners and the community is also important in maintaining quality standards, as well as strengthening public confidence in the program.
