Pramono Warns PPSU: Don't Just Please the Leadership, But Work in the Field

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung gathered hundreds of regional apparatus to Public Facilities and Infrastructure Handling (PPSU) officers in a town hall meeting forum.

A total of 860 participants attended the meeting. They consisted of mayors, regents, sub-district heads, village heads, regional government officials, to PPSU representatives from all villages in Jakarta.

Pramono used this forum to directly evaluate the performance of the PPSU and confirm the direction of improvement in the future. He emphasized that this meeting was not just a ceremony, but a part of an effort to improve the work system and governance which was considered still in need of improvement.

"This event is held solely to improve the performance of the PPSU in Jakarta. We are improving the system and governance that is better, transparent, and open," said Pramono at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, April 15.

Pramono emphasized that various inputs, opinions, suggestions, and criticisms from Jakarta residents are capital for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to improve itself. So, he reminded the PPSU to increase the kinjera that produces results in the field.

"So, I ask that it is no longer just about giving or pleasing the leadership, but real work in the field," said Pramono.

Even so, he admitted that there were a number of indicators that showed improvements in Jakarta's performance in the past year, including in terms of infrastructure and the city's security perception.

However, Pramono did not turn a blind eye to the problems that were still occurring in the field. One of the highlighted cases was the case in Kalisari Village, which was considered to have damaged the image of the capital.

Where, there was a violation of follow-up complaints at JAKI which used photos of artificial intelligence (AI) results that had occurred, Pramono revealed that three PPSU officers had been given a first warning letter (SP1) and had been given the last chance to improve their performance.

In addition, a number of related officials, including the local lurah, have been dismissed to undergo training.

"After we delve into various issues, including those in Kalisari Village, it is indeed tarnished the face of Jakarta. And we, I as the Governor, do not want it to be repeated, so there is no room for it to be repeated again," he said.

He emphasized the importance of inter-institutional coordination in carrying out tasks, including the role of the PPSU as the front line of public services at the regional level.

"I feel as a governor I can't work alone. It won't work without support, for example from the PPSU and so on. So the PPSU is the spearhead of Jakarta's future face. That's what we'll do," he said.
