Fury and Joshua Fight Approaches to a Deal

JAKARTA - The duel between Anthony Joshua (AJ) against Tyson Fury titled the Battle of Britain is currently close to a consensus and there is a possibility that it will take place at the end of the year.

Promoter Eddie Hearn revealed that the fight between the two British boxers has a high chance of being carried out in November 2026 as the contract negotiation process continues.

"We received a contract last weekend for a two-fight proposal. We continue to come and go discussing it and the process is still ongoing," Hearn said, quoted by France24.

Hearn is very confident that the two boxers will be in the same ring this year. This belief was strengthened after Fury returned to action after retiring for 16 months and recorded a victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov.

Netflix previously announced via social media that the deal for the most expensive fight in British boxing history had been reached. Although he considered the claim too premature, Hearn remained optimistic that their duel would materialize.

Hearn said that Joshua had instructed that the fight be realized immediately. He also confirmed that there were no major obstacles in the ongoing communication process.

"There are no major obstacles, just a little bit about who the opponent will be in July (2026), when he fights, where the fight will be held," he said.

Joshua is currently under observation after he was involved in a car accident in Nigeria in December 2025 that claimed the lives of two close friends.

The 36-year-old boxer is expected to receive a medical clearance to return to full training in the next two weeks. Currently he is training in Ukraine with three-time undisputed world champion Oleksandr Usyk.

According to reports, the fight between the two names will take place at Croke Park, Dublin. The venue with a capacity of more than 80,000 seats is one of the largest stadiums in Europe.

Croke Park Stadium Chief Executive Peter McKenna admitted they had a desire to host the Fury fight there alongside Ireland's greatest female boxer Katie Taylor's appearance as a supporting card.

"It will be a world-class event so we can facilitate Katie Taylor's fight here. A lot of things have to go according to plan," said Peter.
