Bengkulu City Government Partners with Bank and Private Long Beach, Targets to Add Free Gazebo

BENGKULU - The Bengkulu City Government (Pemkot) has stepped up the arrangement of the Panjang Beach tourist area by partnering with the banking and private sectors to build supporting facilities for tourists.

The Mayor of Bengkulu Dedy Wahyudi said that the collaboration was focused on the construction of gazebos along the coastal area, from Pasir Putih Beach to Jakat Beach.

"We also ask Mandiri and BSI for 10 gazebos each. I have asked the Head of Tourism to immediately send a proposal. Media friends can also remind you," said Dedy in Bengkulu, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, April 15.

Currently, the Bengkulu City Government has received 20 gazebo construction support from the Bengkulu Bank.

In addition, the city government also encourages the participation of national banks such as Bank Mandiri and Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) to contribute to the arrangement of the flagship tourist area.

The city government emphasized that the contribution expected was not in the form of cash assistance, but the construction of facilities directly.

The cooperation scheme can utilize corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds and promotional budgets from each bank.

The government is optimistic that this cross-sector collaboration can accelerate the arrangement of Pantai Panjang so that it is more orderly, comfortable, and increasingly attractive for the community and tourists.

Previously, the Bengkulu City Government had also allocated a budget of Rp. 1 billion from the APBD to build 100 units of gazebos along the Pasir Putih Beach area to Jakat Beach.

Head of the Bengkulu City Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Office, Noprisman, said the gazebo construction was intended as a supporting facility as well as a decent rest area for visitors.

"This facility is expected to be used by all visitors and become a solution to prevent incidents that have occurred in the past few months," he said.

The addition of free gazebos is also part of efforts to beautify the face of Panjang Beach as well as improve the comfort of tourists while enjoying the coastal area.

With increasingly complete facilities, Panjang Beach is expected to be a more visitor-friendly and competitive tourist destination in Bengkulu.
