Cloudflare Launches Cloudflare Mesh, Manage AI Agent Access More Securely

JAKARTA - Cloudflare announced Cloudflare Mesh, the first private network solution of this scale built to support the development of AI agents.

By bringing together AI agents, humans, and multicloud infrastructure into a single secure network, Cloudflare Mesh provides a network foundation for organizations to build, deploy, and manage next-generation AI applications.

Cloudflare Mesh's presence is expected to be a solution for companies that have been facing security problems, forcing them to choose between limiting AI agents' access or potentially exposing their private infrastructure to the public internet so that agents can function.

"For years, developers have been stuck between the choice of wasting days on a complex and complicated VPN, or taking a dangerous shortcut by exposing private infrastructure to the open web. Now, Cloudflare Mesh removes that complexity," said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare.

Cloudflare is also integrating Mesh with the Cloudflare Developer Platform, including Workers, Workers VPC, and Agents SDK.

This integration allows organizations to build an end-to-end lifecycle for AI agents, from implementing private connectivity in minutes, ensuring secure access to private services, to providing a complete security stack for AI agents.

Through private IP routing on Cloudflare's global network, sensitive data remains encrypted and isolated from the public internet. Developers can also provide limited access to private APIs and databases through simple code configuration, without having to build complex network infrastructure.
