Sammy Simorangkir invites fans to sing along at the 20th anniversary concert.

JAKARTA - Sammy Simorangkir will celebrate his journey in the Indonesian music industry which has been more than two decades through a concert titled "20 Years of Sammy Simorangkir's Voice (20SSS)", which is scheduled to be held at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Central Jakarta, on May 13.

For Sammy, this celebratory concert is like "a dream come true". In the course of his career, which was not always smooth, the former vocalist of Kerispatih admitted that he was not too ambitious to hold a large-scale concert, until finally an offer came from We Offer Wonders and Enjoy Live Experience - as the promoter of this concert.

"This dream (to hold a concert) has never crossed my mind. This dream may exist, but to reach that dream I think I'm too tired... Because as a singer, I've been traveling from island to island, from city to city, and I think it's enough not to dream too much," said Sammy in a press conference at Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, April 14.

"But I don't know, my handwriting is not me who wrote it, but God who wrote it. So I just surrender, but suddenly I was joined by two big promoters. So I'm very grateful," he added.

With that gratitude, Sammy also promised the best treat for fans who came to watch. Later Sammy will present more than 23 songs in a performance lasting about two and a half hours.

"The concept of the show will be divided into two, where my journey (music) was once as a frontman of a band that was quite booming in Indonesia - until now there are still my friends - then I walked the path as a soloist," said Sammy.

Not performing alone, the 43-year-old singer-songwriter will bring in several guest singers, one of which has been confirmed to be Fabio Asher, his duet partner in the single "Bisakah?" which was released last year.

"For the song list, of course the songs are prepared for us to sing together," said Arief Darussalam from We Offer Wonders.

The promoter also urged the audience to wear gray clothes, in accordance with the theme color carried out in the show.

Not stopping there, Dino Hamid from Enjoy Live Experience added that his party would prepare the best stage performance to support Sammy's performance.

"I am sure and guarantee, for the entire performance, the audience will definitely sing along," said Dino. "Yes, the tagline is: Don't sing, money back."
