Back and forth to apply for a preliminary trial, Indra Iskandar's steps are monitored by the KPK

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) admitted that it had monitored the steps of the Secretary General of the DPR RI Indra Iskandar when he submitted and withdrew the pre-trial lawsuit several times at the South Jakarta District Court (PN).

This was conveyed by KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo when asked about the pretrial lawsuit of Indra Iskandar which was finally partially granted by the PN Jaksel on Monday, April 14.

Indra Iskandar is known to have filed a preliminary trial for the first time on May 16, 2024 at the South Jakarta District Court. However, the lawsuit with case number 57/Pid.Pra/2024/PN JKT.SEL was withdrawn or revoked on May 27, 2024.

Then he filed a pretrial lawsuit again on January 22, 2026 and was revoked again on February 10, 2026.

Finally, Indra Iskandar filed a pretrial lawsuit again on February 27, 2026 and was registered with case number 31/Pid.Pra/2026/PN JKT. SEL. The trial then proceeded and the verdict was read on April 14 which stated that his request was partially granted.

"We are also monitoring several submissions submitted by IS for pretrial applications," Budi told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, April 15.

Budi did not elaborate on the meaning of the monitoring carried out by the anti-corruption commission on the lawsuit that was revoked back and forth. He only said, the KPK then followed the course of the pretrial lawsuit which had been scheduled.

"When it has been determined to be held, the opening hearing, we also follow, we provide answers to what is the subject matter of the lawsuit from the person concerned, and we then hear the decision of the pre-trial application today," he said.

He also ensured that the KPK would still respect the legal process that was running. But, from the material aspect of the corruption case for the procurement of official residences that ensnared Indra would continue after the analysis of the PN Jaksel's decision was carried out.

"The pre-trial is to test the formal aspect at the stage of presenting this case. So we believe that in terms of its substance, we have sufficient evidence," he said.

"We will conduct an analysis through the legal bureau team, we will evaluate what the legal considerations of the pre-trial judge are so that we will follow up later."

As previously reported, the Secretary General of the DPR RI Indra Iskandar has been a suspect in the case of alleged corruption in the procurement of facilities for the DPR members' official residence in 2020 since January 19, 2024.

Indra Iskandar was examined as a witness twice, namely on Thursday, March 14, 2024, and Wednesday, May 15, 2024. He also missed when he was called on Friday, October 24, 2025, with the excuse that there was another scheduled agenda.

In this case, the KPK suspects that the filling of the living room to the bedroom of the parliamentary residence in Kalibata and Ulujami, South Jakarta has been rigged. The method is in the form of violations of several provisions related to the procurement of goods and services to inflation or mark-up.
