Vivo Speeds Up X500 Series, Prepares Vlogging Camera for Creators

Jakarta - Vivo seems to be unwilling to half-heartedly pursue the content creator market. After releasing the previous flagship line, the Chinese company is now preparing a new breakthrough through the Vivo X500 series, which is expected to launch faster than usual, namely around the third quarter of 2026.

What makes it interesting is not just a smartphone - Vivo also gives a strong signal that it will release a special vlogging camera device.

Vlogging Camera Becomes a New Weapon

During the media session after the launch of the X300 Ultra, Vivo executives revealed that the trend of video content, especially vlogging, is increasingly driving the need for practical and ready-to-use devices.

Instead of relying on the smartphone's rear camera or an additional device, Vivo is preparing a new solution in the form of a compact vlogging camera. Its shape is said to be similar to a pocket camera with built-in stabilization - a concept reminiscent of the DJI Osmo Pocket 3.

This device is aimed at creators who want to record themselves more easily without a complicated setup. If it goes according to plan, its launch will coincide with the X500 series around September in China.

Faster Forward Strategy

Usually, the X series is launched in the last quarter of the year. However, this time, Vivo seems to have accelerated the release cycle. For comparison, the previous series was introduced in October, while the X500 is predicted to advance to September.

This move can be read as an effort by Vivo to lock in market momentum before competitors release their flagships at the end of the year.

Camera Accessories Level Up

In addition to new devices, Vivo is also developing a photography ecosystem through additional accessories. One of the highlights is the telephoto extender such as G2 and G2 Ultra, which allows users to take long-distance photos with better quality - for example at concerts or sports matches.

Interestingly, this technology will not be exclusive to the flagship. Vivo is considering bringing it to younger lines such as the Vivo S60.

However, there is a major requirement: image quality must remain consistent. If performance does not meet the standard, this feature may be withheld.

Creator Market Becomes a New Battlefield

Vivo's move reflects a broader trend in the tech industry. Smartphones are no longer just communication tools, but also the main weapon for content production.

With a combination of flagship smartphones, vlogging cameras, and modular accessories, Vivo is trying to build a more complete creator ecosystem - something that has been dominated by camera and accessory brands.

If this strategy is successful, Vivo will not only sell devices, but also a digital lifestyle.
