BTN JAKIM 2026 is believed to make Jakarta's economy more competitive.

JAKARTA - The implementation of the BTN Jakarta International Marathon (JAKIM) 2026, the result of collaboration between the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, is targeted to have an economic turnover impact of more than Rp. 200 billion higher than last year's Rp. 125 billion. This is in line with the very massive increase in both scale, number of participants, and quality of implementation.

The event, which was held as part of the 499th Anniversary of the City of Jakarta, successfully won the Elite Label from World Athletics. BTN JAKIM 2026 will also be held for two days, namely on June 13-14, 2026 and will present more than 40,000 participants, including from the international segment, which reached nearly 1,000 participants from 46 countries and will continue to grow.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said Jakarta was recorded as the 2nd safest city in ASEAN and the momentum of holding BTN JAKIM would strengthen this position.

"We will of course provide maximum support for BTN JAKIM, not only free public transportation for runners and BTN JAKIM committee. We hope that this support will make Jakarta's position (as one of the safest cities in ASEAN) stronger and if last year Rp125 billion (economic turnover), this year with participants who have increased significantly, then (economic turnover in 2026) will be more than that," said Pramono in the BTN JAKIM 2026 Press Conference at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, April 14.

On the same occasion, BTN President Director Nixon LP Napitupulu said his party was proud to continue to support BTN JAKIM, which this year was attended by more and more participants, making the global brand participate in the event.

According to Nixon, as a consumer bank, BTN will continue to provide banking transaction convenience to support various lifestyle activities of the community including sports.

One of them, added Nixon, is that the company offers ease of financial transactions through bale by BTN.

"BTN JAKIM is also one of the drivers of the number of bale by BTN users to 4 million customers and this year we are targeting that number to rise to 5 million," said Nixon.

Meanwhile, in this year's implementation, BTN JAKIM successfully attracted the interest of foreign runners with the most participants coming from Malaysia, Singapore, and Korea. BTN JAKIM also presents a number of significant updates that mark an increase in the scale of the event. For the first time, BTN JAKIM will be held for 2 days with 4 race categories, namely BTN Marathon, Le Minerale Half Marathon, EJ Sport 10K, and BSN (Bank Syariah Negara) 5K.

The addition of the 5K category this year is also a step to encourage wider community participation in order to increase the movement of a healthier life.

BTN JAKIM 2026 will also continue to present routes that feature the icon of the city of Jakarta. On the first day, participants can enjoy a sterile morning route in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area because the route will start and end in that area. Then, on the second day, participants will enjoy running from the National Monument (Monas) to the finish point at GBK.

Along the route, runners will be presented with the atmosphere of the dynamic capital city and various cheering points with a cultural nuance of Jakarta, presented by the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Service and the DKI Jakarta Culture Service.

Meanwhile, the Race Director of Indonesia Muda Road Runner, Satrio Guardian, said that the implementation of BTN JAKIM in 2025 successfully recorded an economic turnover of IDR 125 billion. With the number of runners increasing from 31 thousand in 2025 to 45 thousand in 2026, said Satrio, it will be a booster for the economic turnover of BTN JAKIM this year.

Satrio continued that the route design and experience of the race at BTN JAKIM 2026 were focused on ensuring the comfort and safety of participants. Satrio also revealed that BTN JAKIM 2026 still maintains the 4S concept, namely Sterile, Secure, Safety, and Smooth, to provide a smoother, safer, and organized running experience.

"With the increase in participants, we estimate that the increase in economic turnover at BTN JAKIM 2026 will reach approximately Rp. 200 billion. We ensure that every technical aspect, from routes to management in the field, is designed to provide the optimal running experience for runners," he said.

Satrio detailed that the acquisition of the Elite Label status from World Athletics reflects the fulfillment of international standards in technical and operational aspects. The status, said Satrio, not only increases the credibility of BTN JAKIM, but also expands the appeal for runners from various regions to foreign countries.

Satrio also explained that the success of the BTN JAKIM was inseparable from the collaboration of cross-regional devices (SKPD) in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government environment which also played a role in supporting the smooth and successful implementation of the event as a whole.
