Polda Riau Rotasi Besar Personel Polsek Panipahan Usai Ricuh, Kapolda: Respons Keresahan Warga

PEKANBARU - The Riau Police have taken further steps in responding to the security situation in Panipahan, Rokan Hilir Regency. After removing the Panipahan Police Chief and the Criminal Investigation Unit, a major rotation of personnel at the level of the Police Station is now being carried out.

Riau Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryawan said the decision was made after undergoing internal evaluation involving a number of supervisory functions.

"Based on the results of the evaluation from Itwasda, Propam, and through a long Wanjak process, we conducted a comprehensive assessment of the performance of personnel at the Panipahan Police. From the results, it was decided that a major rotation would be carried out targeting the kanits and members who were serving there," said Herry, Tuesday, April 14.

This step is said to be part of the organization's arrangement as well as a corrective effort so that police services in the region run more optimally.

"We want to ensure that the presence of the National Police is really felt by the community, able to maintain kamtibmas stability, as well as respond to various developing dynamics," he said.

This rotation is also associated with the increasing unrest of the community in recent times. The Riau Police claimed to have arrested the aspirations of residents who want a more conducive security situation.

"We hear the aspirations of the community. What is the anxiety of the residents of Panipahan is a serious concern for us. Therefore, every step we take is not only based on internal evaluation results, but also as a form of moral responsibility to bring a sense of security in the community," he said.

On the other hand, the improvement in Panipahan is also directed at handling drug problems which are considered to be one of the root causes. The Riau Police have formed an Anti-Drug Task Force to strengthen supervision and law enforcement.

"Drug handling cannot be done in a normal way. We have formed an Anti-Drug Task Force that not only focuses on enforcement, but also conducts a thorough evaluation of internal performance, so that there is no room for deviation," he said.

The approach taken is not only enforcement, but also prevention. The Riau Police plans to work with the National Narcotics Agency of the Riau Province to encourage Panipahan to become a Clean Village from Drugs (Shining).

"In the future, we will encourage Panipahan to become a Shining village. This is not only about law enforcement, but also an effort to build social resilience for the community to be able to reject and fight drugs collectively," said Herry.

In addition, community involvement will also be strengthened through the appointment of anti-drug ambassadors from various circles, ranging from youth to local communities.

"We want this anti-drug movement not only to be carried out by the police, but also to be a joint movement. Therefore, we will involve anti-drug ambassadors so that this message reaches directly to the community," he said.

Previously, the Riau Police had previously removed the Panipahan Police Chief and the Criminal Investigation Unit as a form of accountability for leadership after the riots in the area. This step is said to be an effort to restore security stability as well as improve public confidence in the police institution.
