RKAB 2026 Diproyeksi Tekan Produksi Batubara, Berpotensi Pangkas Tenaga Kerja dan DBH Kaltara
TANJUNG SELOR - The policy of the Work Plan and Budget (RKAB) for the coal mining sector in 2026, which will be set by the central government, is projected to have an impact on production decline in the region, including in North Kalimantan (Kaltara).
The Head of the Kaltara Energy and Mineral Resources Office (ESDM), Joshua Batara Payangan, revealed that until now his party had not received direct reports from companies related to the RKAB issue.
He said this was because the authority to manage coal mines was in the central government.
"If there is no coal company that conveys this matter to us, because the authority of coal mines is at the center. It is possible that they directly coordinate with the ministry," said Joshua, Tuesday, April 14.
According to him, the RKAB 2026 policy is a national policy that applies to all coal mining companies in Indonesia, including those operating in Kaltara.
"This central policy applies to all coal mining companies in Indonesia, including in Kaltara," said Joshua.
In Kaltara itself, there are 16 coal mining business permit (IUP) holders. However, for the production figures that will be set in the RKAB 2026, the local government is still waiting for further information from the central government.
"There are 16 companies holding coal IUP in North Kalimantan. For production, it is still being asked by members to friends in the ministry," he explained.
Joshua assessed that the policy of production restrictions in the 2026 RKAB has the potential to have a follow-up impact, especially on labor in the mining sector.
"It can have an impact on reducing labor, because companies will definitely reduce production costs," he said.
In addition, the decline in production is also expected to have an impact on the reduction of the Regional Fiscal Transfer (DBH) received by the region.
"DBH will definitely go down because production will go down," he said.
He added that in general, mining companies are ensured to adjust their production targets in accordance with the RKAB provisions set by the central government.
"What is clear is that the company's production will definitely decrease," he concluded.
