Ask the Yellow Forces Not to Wait for Complaints, Pramono: Don't Work Because of Viral
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung asked the Yellow Force of the Road Construction Agency to work more proactively in maintaining the condition of road infrastructure. He emphasized that monitoring should not only rely on citizen reports or viral issues.
In front of about 1,500 personnel, Pramono emphasized the importance of officer sensitivity in detecting road damage early. He also asked the ranks of the Road Construction Service in five city areas to ensure that the road is free of holes through regular monitoring.
"I want to remind you, this work is not enough to rely on reports or complaints from residents. Don't just work because of complaints or something that goes viral. Sensitivity and accuracy in monitoring road conditions are the true form of service," said Pramono at the Office of the Investigation, Testing, and Measurement Management Unit of the East Jakarta Road Construction Service, Tuesday, April 14.
According to Pramono, a quick response is still needed, especially when damage occurs due to extreme weather. However, preventive measures are considered much more important so that the risk of accidents can be suppressed.
"I saw firsthand that the Yellow Forces remained on alert in the field and moved quickly to handle it. This shows an extraordinary commitment to maintaining the safety of road users," said Pramono.
In addition to road repairs, the Yellow Forces are also tasked with maintaining sidewalks, pedestrian bridges (JPO), to supporting facilities such as underpass pumps and street lighting. This role is considered crucial, although it often escapes public attention.
"This hard work may not always be visible, but the benefits are felt directly by the residents every day," said Pramono.
On the other hand, he reminded the importance of work discipline and compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP), including the use of equipment and materials, to ensure the safety of officers and the community.
"With a total of around 1,500 personnel, the performance shown is very good. I give appreciation and respect to all the Yellow Forces," he said.
Closing his remarks, Pramono invited all levels to strengthen the #JagaJakarta movement and encourage the target of a hole-free capital through collective work.
"The Yellow Forces are the spearhead in maintaining the city's infrastructure. I hope that this performance will continue to be maintained to support the transformation of Jakarta as a global city that is safe, comfortable, and friendly for all," added Pramono.
