Status of Suspect Indra Iskandar Dismissed, KPK Studies the Pre-trial Decision of the Jaksel PN

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will study the decision of the South Jakarta District Court (PN) which dropped the status of suspect of the Secretary General of the DPR RI Indra Iskandar today, April 14. Because, this process tests the formal aspect of the investigation of alleged corruption in the procurement of facilities for the office of members of the DPR RI in the 2020 fiscal year.

"We will study the legal considerations that underlie the judge's decision to determine the next legal steps," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters through his written statement, Tuesday, April 14.

Budi said his party would respect the verdict that the judge had tapped. But, he ensured that the corruption case that ensnared Indra Iskandar would not be over just like that.

"Considering that the pretrial ruling is not the end of law enforcement efforts," he said.

Budi continued, Indra Iskandar could also be re-arrested. "As long as there is sufficient evidence, the KPK has the authority to continue the investigation process in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations," he said.

The South Jakarta District Court (PN) judge granted a portion of the application filed by the Secretary General of the DPR RI Indra Iskandar today, April 14. His status as a suspect in the alleged corruption in the procurement of facilities for the offices of members of the DPR RI in the 2020 fiscal year was declared dismissed.

"The applicant's pretrial application is partially granted," said the Single Judge of the Jaksel PN when reading the verdict.

The judge stated that the KPK had acted arbitrarily in the process of determining the suspects. The legal status of Indra was declared invalid and did not have legal force.

Meanwhile, Indra Iskandar has been a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of office equipment for members of the DPR for 2020 since January 19, 2024.

Furthermore, Indra Iskandar was examined as a witness twice, namely on Thursday, March 14, 2024, and Wednesday, May 15, 2024. He also missed when he was called on Friday, October 24, 2025, with the excuse that there was another scheduled agenda.

As previously reported, the KPK is investigating alleged corruption in the DPR General Secretariat regarding the procurement of furniture or furniture for the residence of members of parliament. It is suspected that the filling of the living room to the bedroom was rigged.

The modus operandi in this case is a violation of several provisions related to the procurement of goods and services and budget inflation or mark-up. The official residence whose filling was corrupted is located in Kalibata and Ulujami, South Jakarta.

In this case, a request to prevent going abroad has also been made for seven people. Those who are not allowed to travel are the Secretary General of the DPR RI Indra Iskandar; Head of the House of Representatives Management Section of the DPR RI period 2019-2022, Hiphi Hidupati; Director of PT Daya Indah Dinamika, Tanti Nugroho; and Director of PT Dwitunggal Bangun Persada, Juanda Hasurungan Sidabutar.
