Pramono Anung Opens Opportunity for Political Parties to Buy Transjakarta Stop Naming Rights to Boost Regional Revenue
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung continues to mature the discourse on the sale of naming rights or naming rights for Transjakarta stops as a new strategy to increase non-APBD funding sources.
This innovative step not only targets the private sector, but also opens wide opportunities for various other parties, including political parties, to attach their identities to these public facilities.
Pramono revealed that the DKI Provincial Government is currently drafting a more detailed and detailed set of rules related to this scheme.
According to him, as a global city, Jakarta must dare to make breakthroughs in the management of public spaces in order to balance the regional fiscal conditions.
"Of course, we will make more detailed and detailed rules for this naming rights," said Pramono when met in East Jakarta, Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
Even though this scheme is opened commercially, Pramono ensures that the government will not ignore the aesthetics of the city.
He assured that there would be strict arrangements so that the naming of the bus stop would not damage the scenery or the comfort of public transportation users.
All forms of naming cooperation must remain in line with efforts to maintain the beauty of the face of the capital.
"The most important thing is to maintain comfort, security, and beauty. Of course, the naming rights that will be given must not interfere with the beauty of the city," he said.
This policy was taken as a solution amid budget pressure after the DKI Jakarta Regional Budget experienced a cut in revenue sharing funds (DBH) from the central government of up to Rp15 trillion.
Pramono emphasized that the naming of the bus stops was carried out transparently and based on the contribution of tolls and taxes to the local government.
This is considered a smart way to get "money" for the development of Jakarta without having to burden the state budget excessively.
In his statement, Pramono even explicitly exemplified that anyone can participate as long as they meet the obligation to pay, ranging from consumer product brands to political organizations.
He gave an example of a number of bus stops that are now using big brand names as proof of the effectiveness of this scheme.
"We do it transparently, there is a stop called Nescafe, Teh Sosro, various things. Everyone, the most important thing is to pay. Even if Golkar wants to make a stop, it's okay," said Pramono.
