US Military Begins Blocking Strait of Hormuz

JAKARTA - The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has begun to blockade the Strait of Hormuz, carrying out President Donald Trump's orders, after negotiations between Washington and Tehran failed.

The command promised to start a blockade "of all maritime traffic entering and leaving Iranian ports" on April 13, at 14.00 local time.

Iran and the United States held talks in Islamabad on Saturday after Trump announced a deal with Tehran on a two-week ceasefire.

On Sunday morning, the head of the US delegation, Vice President JD Vance, announced that Iran and the US failed to reach an agreement during long negotiations, and the US delegation returned to their homeland without producing an agreement.

On the same day, Trump announced that the US would begin blocking all ships trying to enter and exit the maritime route, and ordered the US Navy to search for and intercept ships that paid Iran to be able to pass through the strait.
