Danke Rajagukguk Removed from Karo District Attorney Position After Controversy over Amsal Sitepu Case

JAKARTA - The Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) Anang Supriatna said Danke Rajagukguk was transferred from the position of Head of the Karo District Attorney's Office (Kajari), North Sumatra.

"For Karo, Sister Danke was transferred diagonally. This means that she is not in a structural position, but in a functional position for the time being and this is also common in ministries/institutions," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 13.

In addition, he continued, the mutation was carried out while waiting for the results of an internal examination of Danke after handling the legal case of videographer Amsal Sitepu, which was handled by the Karo District Attorney's Office (Kejari) to cause controversy.

Meanwhile, the position of Kajari Karo was then filled by Edmond Novvery Purba who previously served as Kajari South Nias.

The Kajari Karo mutation is contained in the Decree of the Attorney General Number KEP-IV-347/C/04/2026 dated April 13, 2026 regarding the dismissal and appointment from and in the structural position of civil servants of the Indonesian Attorney General.

Previously, the Attorney General's Office revealed that it had secured Danke Rajagukguk as the Kajari Karo, Head of the Criminal Section of Khusushingga public prosecutor in Kajari Karo.

They were questioned in connection with the handling of the case of videographer Amsal Sitepu who caused a controversy.

The Attorney General's Office also emphasized the principle of caution and upholding the presumption of innocence in the examination.
