BMKG: NTT Masuk Peralihan Musim Hujan ke Kemarau April Ini

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stated that the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) region in April 2026 had entered a transitional period from the rainy season to the dry season (pancaroba) which could cause hydrometeorological disasters.

"Currently, the NTT region is in a transitional period from the rainy season to the dry season or pancaroba," said BMKG Praktirawan of the El Tari Kupang Meteorological Station, Class II, Vitro Nurvandyanto in his statement in Kupang, Monday, quoted by Antara.

He said this in relation to the early warning of weather in the NTT region issued by the local BMKG regarding the eclipse period.

He said that although the NTT region and its surroundings had entered the early dry season, the public was still urged to be alert to extreme weather that could cause hydrometeorological disasters.

"During the transition period, it is necessary to be aware of rain accompanied by lightning or lightning and strong winds for a short duration," he said.

The potential for hydrometeorological disasters can include floods, landslides, fallen trees, damage to buildings or public facilities, and the like.

In addition, on Monday (13/4) the majority of NTT areas were in sunny weather and sunny cloudy.

Especially for people in Manggarai Regency and West Manggarai, he said, they should be wary of the potential for moderate to heavy rain.

On Tuesday (14/4), most of NTT is expected to be sunny, sunny cloudy, and some areas with the potential for moderate rain.

Meanwhile, Sabu Raijua Regency has the potential to experience strong winds from Monday (13/4) to Wednesday (15/4).
