Laughing Meeting Coordinating Minister For Political, Legal And Security Affairs, Butet Kertarajasa: Pak Mahfud Has Played Ludruk

YOGYAKARTA - A meeting full of laughter between the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD and comedians and comedians in Yogyakarta.

The meeting took place at the Nyi Ageng restaurant managed by Butet Kertarajasa's wife Rulyani Isfihana, in the Tirtodipuran Street area of Yogyakarta, Sunday, June 6.

The meeting, which was attended by around 30 comedic artists, became an “aspiration-absorbing” meeting but was full of laughter. Besides Butet, who was appointed as moderator, top comedians such as Susilo Den Baguse Ngarso, Yatie Pesek, Marwoto, Wisben, Bambang Gundul, Anang Batas, Dibyo Primus, Eko Bebek, Yuningsih, Elisa Orcaros Alaso and others were also present at this meeting.

In his remarks, Mahfud MD said that President Jokowi is very close to comedians and comedians.

“Before COVID-19, Pak Jokowi often invited them to entertain ministers at the palace or at other events. But after COVID-19 that can no longer be done. There is a greeting from Pak Jokowi and I have come here for friendship," said Coordinating Minister Mahfud in a written statement.

Butet said that although Mahfud MD is not the Minister of Arts and Culture, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs has long been very close to artists and comedians.

"In the past, Pak Mahfud played ludruk comedy with me, Sujiwo Tejo, and Kartolo well in TIM (Taman Ismail Marzuki) in the play Kartolo Mbalela," said Butet. "Opo, Mr. Mahfud iso ngguyu, joking?" Cut Susilo. "Yo, opo iso ngguyu, kabeh army and police," said another.

Butet immediately replied, "Wow, Mr. Mahfud is clever at being funny, not inferior to you. Grandma is not funny, he was fired from the Madurese tribe," he said breaking the laughter of the artists present.

The event, which took place while adhering to this health protocol, accommodated the suggestions and complaints of artists and comedians in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although the content was very serious as an aspiration, it was all delivered in a humorous style, so the meeting which lasted 1.5 hours was filled with boisterous laughter full of familiarity.
