Extreme Weather Causes Trees to Fall on Toll Road, Jasa Marga Evacuates

JAKARTA - Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds hit parts of Jakarta and its surroundings on Sunday afternoon, April 12, 2026.

The extreme weather conditions resulted in a number of trees falling and disruption of facilities at several points on the toll road managed by Jasa Marga.

Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad (JMT) Regional Division noted that fallen trees occurred in several locations, including at KM 8 and KM 10 of the Jagorawi Toll Road towards Bogor and KM 30 towards Jakarta. A similar incident was also observed on the JORR Toll euas, specifically at KM 35 towards Jakarta.

In addition to fallen trees, there were also disruptions to facilities in the form of a billboard frame that collapsed in the Halim 2 Toll Gate (GT) area of the Inner City Toll Road.

Extreme weather not only impacts the Jakarta area, but also in West Java. The high rainfall that occurs continuously causes waterlogging at the KM 149 Rest Area.

Based on field monitoring results, the puddle occurred due to the overflow (backwater) of the Cinambo River on the side of the KM 149 B Rest and Service (TIP).

Jasa Marga deployed two water pumps with an outlet size of 5 inches to speed up the water disposal process.

The toll road management stated that officers from Representative Office 1, 2 and 3 together with Jasamarga Tollroad Operator (JMTO) and Jasamarga Related Business (JMRB) intervened to handle the problem in the field.

They carried out the evacuation of fallen tree materials, handling of affected facilities, and traffic arrangements to ensure the safety and comfort of road users.

"We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this incident," said Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Marketing & Communication Department Head Panji Satriya, quoted from a written statement, Monday, April 13.

Road users are urged to remain vigilant, pay attention to traffic signs and officer directions, and arrange travel time and routes.
