Illegal Miras Circulation Eradicated, 50 Liter Cap Tikus Seized by Police

TERNATE - Ternate Police personnel, North Maluku, through the Ternate Utara Police Opsnal seized 50 liters of illegal liquor (miras) in a raid in Dufa-Dufa Village, North Ternate area.

Head of Public Relations of Ternate Police, Ipda Sudirjo, said the raid was carried out after officers received information from the public regarding the sale of cap tikus type liquor.

"Following up on the report, the Opsnal personnel immediately headed to the location and conducted a search," said Sudirjo, quoted by Antara, Monday, April 13.

From the results of the search, officers found evidence in the form of alcoholic beverages in the form of two jeriken measuring 25 liters or a total of 50 liters.

In addition, officers also secured a man with the initials EF (46), a local resident, who was suspected of being the owner of the liquor.

Currently, the evidence along with the suspected perpetrators has been secured at the North Ternate Police Station to undergo further legal proceedings.

Sudirjo said that the activity was part of the police's efforts to eradicate the circulation of illegal liquor which has the potential to cause disturbances to public security and order.

He appealed to the public not to produce, sell, or consume illegal alcoholic beverages and also to play an active role in maintaining environmental security by reporting suspicious activities to the police.

"With the involvement of the community in the Ternate City area, it can support efforts to maintain the condition of kamtimbas in this area," said Sudirjo.
