President Prabowo Resigns as Chairman of IPSI After 34 Years of Serving to Develop Pencak Silat

Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto has announced his withdrawal from the nomination as Chairman of the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (IPSI). This was conveyed when he gave a speech at the 16th IPSI National Congress (Munas) at the Jakarta Convention Center, Saturday, April 11.

In his speech, President Prabowo recounted his long journey of dedication in the world of pencak silat for more than three decades. In a mood of grief and pride, President Prabowo called the moment an important part of his life's journey with pencak silat.

President Prabowo said that his involvement in IPSI had lasted for 34 years, both as Deputy General Chair and as General Chair. Regarding not wanting to be nominated as Chairman of IPSI, President Prabowo admitted that he was carrying out his duties as President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Moreover, according to President Prabowo, in recent years he is no longer actively involved, but still provides support for the development of national pencak silat.

In his personal reflection, President Prabowo revealed that his love for pencak silat had grown since childhood, influenced by a family that was also close to the world of pencak silat.

Even though he is no longer in office, President Prabowo reiterated his commitment to continue supporting pencak silat.
