US-Iran Talks Extended a Day, Continue Again Today

JAKARTA - Peace talks between Iran and the United States (US) in Islamabad, Pakistan, will be extended one more day until Sunday, April 12.

"Negotiations will continue despite a number of differences," the Iranian government said on Telegram, quoted by Antara.

Iran and the United States began talks in Islamabad on Saturday after US President Donald Trump announced an agreement with Tehran on a two-week ceasefire on Wednesday night.

The Iranian delegation was led by the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, accompanied by the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, the Chairman of the National Security Council Ali Akbar Ahmadian, and the Governor of the Central Bank Abdolnaser Hemmati.

Meanwhile, the US delegation was led by Vice President J.D. Vance along with President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and President Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
