OTT Bupati Tulungagung, KPK Sita Duit Rp335,4 Juta hingga 2 Pasang Sepatu Louis Vuitton

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated hundreds of millions of rupiah in money and two black Louis Vuitton loafers during a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) that ensnared Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo on Friday evening, April 10. This finding is related to alleged extortion and other gratification.

This was conveyed by the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, at a press conference to determine the suspects, Gatut Sunu Wibowo and his aide, Dwi Yoga Ambal.

"From this closed investigation activity, the team also secured evidence in the form of documents, electronic evidence (BBE), several pairs of Louis Vuitton shoes, and cash worth Rp. 335.4 million," said Deputy Head of Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu in a press conference at the KPK Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Saturday night, April 11.

Asep said the money was part of the Rp2.7 billion that was successfully collected from a number of Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) officials. The team carried out a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) after receiving reports from the public and the handover of money.

This extortion, continued Asep, began when Gatut appointed a number of officials in the Tulungagung Regency Government. After that, he asked those who were appointed to sign a resignation letter if they were unable to carry out their duties and responsibilities.

Another official who was inaugurated, called Asep, also had to sign a letter of responsibility for the management of the budget in each of his work units. But, all of these files have no date.

"This document was then allegedly used by GSW as a means to control and suppress officials so that they were loyal and obeyed every order from GSW," said Asep.

"For those who are not in line with the regent, they are threatened with being removed from their positions or even retiring as ASN," he continued.

After holding the letter, Gatut through his aide, Yoga asked for money from the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD). "With a total of around Rp. 5 billion," said Asep, who had served as the Director of KPK Investigation.

Asep said the amount requested from 16 OPDs in the Tulungagung Regency varied, ranging from Rp. 15 million to Rp. 2.8 billion. In addition, Gatut also outwitted the demand for quotas by shifting or adding budgets.

"Due to the addition of this budget, GSW requests a quota of up to 50 percent of the budget value even before the budget is reduced or given to the OPD," he explained.

Not stopping there, Gatut also arranged the procurement of goods and services to get rations. The way, he will directly appoint certain partners for work packages at a number of OPDs.

As for the quota for Gatut, it is usually taken by Yoga at his command. If it has not been paid, Yoga will charge it like the heads of the OPD are in debt.

"Of the total demand for GSW to the OPD, which is at least IDR 5 billion, the realization of the money that has been received by GSW is approximately IDR 2.7 billion," said Asep.

"This money is suspected of being used for personal interests such as buying shoes, treatment, meals, and other personal needs that are also requested or charged to the budget in the OPD. The money was also used by GSW to give THR to a number of Regional Leadership Coordination Forums (Forkopimda) in the Tulungagung Regency Government. "

As a result of his actions, Gatut and Yoga were detained at the KPK Detention Center after officially becoming suspects. The two are suspected of violating Article 12 letter e or Article 12B of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes Jo. Article 20 letter c of Law No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
