Andre Rosiade: IKM Strengthen the Consolidation of Expatriates, Encourage Investment to West Sumatra
JAKRTA - Member of the House of Representatives Andre Rosiade said the Ikatan Keluarga Minang (IKM) Central Leadership Council (DPP IKM) held two agendas at once, namely halal bihalal and the inauguration of the new management.
According to Andre, the activity was attended and involved various Minang figures from various sectors in the organizational structure. He mentioned a number of names who were included in the management, ranging from Donny Oskaria as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, to Afriansyah Noor as Deputy General Chairman.
"Alhamdulillah, all Minang figures in various sectors have joined, not only present but also joined the management," said Andre, Saturday, April 11.
He also mentioned the presence of other figures such as Sultan Najamudin who will become the Chairman of the Advisory Council.
Andre explained that IKM is a unifying platform for Minang expatriates who have networks throughout all districts in Indonesia, even abroad. Therefore, the consolidation of organizations and data collection is a top priority.
"This IKM organization is in all regions of Indonesia, all regions of the archipelago, and also in various regions of the world," he explained.
He emphasized the importance of optimizing the economic potential of migrants for their hometowns in West Sumatra. Currently, Minang migrants are said to have sent funds of around Rp. 20 trillion per year to the area.
However, in the future, Andre hopes that the contribution will not only be in the form of remittances, but also investments and job creation.
"Not only money that comes in is sent from region to region, but also investments, building industries, and opening jobs," he said.
In addition, Andre emphasized that IKM will play a role as a strategic partner of the local government in various regions where migrant workers are located.
"Where the earth is trampled, the sky is held. IKM will be a constructive partner of the local government," he said.
On the same occasion, Andre also touched on the national energy situation. He ensured that the situation of fuel oil (BBM) supply had passed the critical period and was in a safe condition.
"The government has guaranteed that there will be no increase in subsidized fuel and there is enough stock. The public should not worry about shortages," he said.
He added that Indonesia's energy supply does not depend on one route such as the Strait of Hormuz, so the risk of disruption can be minimized.
Andre also touched on the government's efforts to maintain price stability, including the petrochemical sector, as well as support for refinery projects such as RDMP Balikpapan.
According to him, President Prabowo Subianto's decision not to raise fuel prices reflects his sympathy for the people.
"Mr. Prabowo is on the side of the people and understands world geopolitics, and is ready to face global dynamics," he concluded.
