President Prabowo Subianto Immediately to Russia, Oil Issue Becomes a Sensitive Agenda

JAKARTA - The government is moving quickly. President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to fly to Russia in a matter of days, with energy issues - including alternative oil supplies - on the list of main discussions.

Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) Sugiono confirmed that the departure would be carried out this week. He did not mention the exact date, but gave a signal that the time was very close.

"This week," said Sugiono at the JCC Senayan, Saturday, April 11.

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the energy agenda is one of the important topics. The unstable global situation makes this issue increasingly strategic for Indonesia.

President Prabowo is scheduled to meet directly with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The meeting not only discusses bilateral cooperation, but also the world's geopolitical dynamics.

Sugiono emphasized that the talks would cover the volatile global energy situation. This shows that Indonesia is beginning to actively seek options outside the conventional path.

This step by the President is an effort to secure supplies amid the risk of a spike in world oil prices.
