Minister Dody Assures Transparency and Accountability of the State Budget at the PU Ministry
JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo ensures transparency and accountability in the management of the State Budget (APBN) at the Ministry of Public Works to maintain public confidence amid the issue of searches carried out by the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati).
He admitted that the PU Ministry has had a running management system, but improvements and updates continue to be carried out in accordance with the latest technological and software developments in the world.
"Actually, we have had a system for a long time, we are just improving this system from time to time, we update with all kinds of software in the world," said Dody as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, April 11.
He said that the update of the system is expected to strengthen not only the aspects of accountability and integrity, but also increase the effectiveness of budget use in every development program carried out by the ministry as a whole.
"So the hope is not only a matter of accountability and integrity, but also the effectiveness for the community," he said.
In addition, Dody emphasized that every use of state funds must provide a tangible impact and broad benefits for the community, in line with President Prabowo Subianto's instructions to all levels of the central government.
According to him, every rupiah spent on development must be able to provide multiple benefits, even up to dozens of times, for people who feel the direct results of the program.
"That's why the President always instructs us. One rupiah, one rupiah that is used to build something, it must provide benefits 10, 20 times to the affected people. So, that's what we're working on today," he said.
In addition, Dody revealed that the internal audit process in his ministry continued as part of efforts to maintain good governance.
He emphasized that the audit was carried out periodically and thoroughly so that the results would become the basis for improving the performance, transparency, and accountability of the management of the ministry's programs and budgets.
According to him, his ministry is also committed to supporting every process related to supervision and law enforcement in accordance with regulations, to ensure that the administration runs professionally and responsibly.
"I was ordered by the President to clean up, yes this is one of the things I have done. That's about it," said Dody.
