PAN asks JK to convey criticism to Prabowo directly

JAKARTA - Deputy General Chair (Waketum) of the PAN DPP Saleh Partaonan Daulay asked the 10th and 12th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla (JK) to deliver suggestions and criticism directly to President Prabowo Subianto as an effort to strengthen constructive communication in the government.

Saleh said that the space for dialogue between the President and various elements of society has always been wide open, including for national figures to convey their views directly.

He assessed that the tradition of discussion built by the President was a strategic opportunity for national figures to contribute to the direction of development.

"Prabowo is very happy to hear suggestions and criticism. In fact, he often invites figures to discuss at the Palace," he said, quoting Antara.

Saleh said the forum involved various parties, ranging from bureaucrats, clerics, academics to activists and mass media so as to reflect the government's openness to public aspirations.

In this context, he assessed that delivering criticism directly would be more effective and impactful.

"I think if Mr. JK stops by the Palace, everyone hopes that he will give suggestions, input, and constructive criticism. Talking directly to the President will definitely be easier to implement. Moreover, who is delivering the class of Mr. JK," he said.

He also emphasized that JK's capacity and experience are important values in providing strategic input to the government.

"Mr. JK is a great figure. He not only controls the business, but also understands politics and bureaucracy. Not only recognized domestically, but also abroad," he said.

Saleh assessed that delivering criticism directly would be more appropriate for figures with positions and experience like JK so that they could encourage more concrete solutions.

He emphasized that criticism is still important in democracy, but it must be conveyed in a constructive way and in accordance with the context.

"I think if Mr. JK stops by the Palace, everyone hopes that he will give suggestions, input, and constructive criticism," he said.

This step is considered to strengthen the synergy between the government and community leaders in maintaining the quality of democracy and encouraging policies that are responsive to public needs.
