Sido Muncul Back to Win Proper Gold Award from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry

PT Industri Jamu Dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk (SIDO) again won the Gold Corporate Performance Rating (Proper) Assessment Program from the Ministry of Environment (KLH). This Wind Rejection producer also won Green Leadership for Sido Muncul Director Dr. (H.C.) Irwan Hidayat.

The award was presented directly by the Minister of LH/Head of the Environment Control Agency (BPLH) Dr. Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, S.Hut., M.P., at the Sasono Langen Budoyo Building, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Jakarta, Tuesday, April 7.

The Proper Gold award is given to companies that exceed compliance in environmental management. Meanwhile, Green Leadership is a form of appreciation for CEOs or company leaders who are committed to environmental management and sustainable development.

In his remarks, Hanif Faisol expressed his appreciation to the award recipients. He said the Proper award was an effort by the government to increase environmental compliance.

"We (will) continue to use the Proper instrument to increase environmental compliance at business units," said Hanif.

"To the heads of companies who get Proper, we thank you. Beyond the compliance you do, you contribute seriously from resource efficiency, then pollution prevention and activities that build the economy of the community directly and indirectly," he added.

Irwan said that this achievement was the result of the hard work of a solid, creative, and consistent team in maintaining commitment to the environment. This award is also a commitment of the company in building public trust.

"This is the sixth Proper Gold award and the fourth Green Leadership for Sido Muncul. As a company, what we need is public trust. So, one way we build a company by taking care of the environment. Logically, if it's the same environment, it's good, it should be better for consumers," said Irwan after receiving the award.

Irwan emphasized that maintaining the environment is basically something that all parties need to do. Until now, Sido Muncul has made various efforts to maintain the environment, one of which is through the use of Solar Power Plant (PLTS) at the Sido Muncul factory.

"This is our daily life at the factory. We must maintain the environment, do everything for a better environmental future, including energy efficiency. We also use renewable energy," said Irwan.

Not only that, Sido Muncul also processes waste or herbal waste as a fuel as a source of energy. In that way, there is no waste that comes out of the factory or zero waste.
