Yusril: Proposal Wapres Soal Hakim Adhoc Kasus Andrie Yunus Dibahas Bersama MA

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Legal, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra stated that Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka's proposal regarding the case of pouring hard water on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus would be discussed by the government together with the Supreme Court.

Vice President Gibran previously assessed the importance of having a hakimad hoc to try the Andrie Yunus case.

"We, the government, will certainly discuss with the Supreme Court (MA, ed.) to facilitate the proposals and suggestions made by the Vice President. Hopefully there is a way out to accommodate the suggestions and proposals made by the Vice President," said Coordinating Minister Yusril, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 10.

Yusril explained that the possibility of involving hakimad hoc in the case of water spraying against Andrie was still open. In the legislation, the involvement of hakimad hoc is also explicitly mentioned, especially in the Human Rights Court and the Corruption Court.

"It is not ruled out for certain cases, it is also recruited hakimad hoc to handle certain cases only. And, for that, there needs to be a discussion between the government and the Supreme Court," said Yusril.

However, Yusril emphasized that so far there have been no civilian suspects from the Andrie case. The four perpetrators who were named as suspects were all TNI soldiers.

Thus, Yusril explained that the case of spraying hard water against Andrie would also be tried by the military court.

"If now, because no suspects from the civilian community have been found, then the trial is entirely a military court, and this is in accordance with the provisions of the Military Justice Law," said Yusril.

The Military Police Center on Tuesday (7/4) has handed over the hard water spraying case file against Andrie to the Military Audit II-07 Jakarta.

If it is complete, the case will immediately be referred to the Jakarta Military Court II-08 for trial.

Meanwhile, the TNI Puspom has named four TNI soldiers, who are members of the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS), as suspects at the end of last month.

The four suspects, namely Captain NDP, Lieutenant One SL, Lieutenant One BHW, and Sergeant Two ES.
