Crypto Literacy Month 2026 Officially Held, INDODAX CEO Highlights the Role of Influencers in Educating Digital Economic Assets

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Blockchain Association (ABI) together with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) will again hold the 2026 Crypto Literacy Month (BLK) which will take place from April to May 2026. Entering its fourth year, this educational program is presented with a wider and more inclusive coverage by targeting the general public, academics, influencers, technology developers, and law enforcement officers.

Carrying the theme "Integration of Blockchain and Crypto Innovation: Realizing Inclusive Digital Ecosystem Transformation", BLK 2026 emphasizes the importance of cross-sector collaboration in promoting a more equitable, sustainable, and accessible national digital transformation for various layers of society.

In one of the panel sessions, the role of influencers and content creators was highlighted in the crypto ecosystem. As digital information consumption increases, they are considered to have a strategic role in delivering education while shaping a more positive public perception of crypto assets. Therefore, BLK 2026 emphasizes the involvement of influencers and content creators to minimize misinformation and encourage broader crypto literacy.

INDODAX CEO, William Sutanto, said that the presence of influencers cannot be separated from the development of the crypto industry in Indonesia, but still requires clear standardization or limitations.

"Platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and others are widely used by influencers to convey news. However, beyond that, this is also a business field for influencers, because there are marketing activities, information distribution, and education in it," he said, in a written statement, Friday, April 10.

He added that influencers' contributions have played an important role in the growth of the crypto industry, especially in bridging the complexity of information to the public.

"Crypto is a topic that is not easy because it is quite technical, and there are so many projects out there. Without the role of parties who educate the public, the message conveyed has the potential to be wrong or not communicated well. The Indonesian crypto ecosystem would not have developed as it is today without the contribution of influencers and content creators who resonate with the crypto market," he said.

Furthermore, William also highlighted the need for strengthening supervision of anonymous accounts that have the potential to spread misinformation or carry out black campaigns.

"As the industry develops, anonymous accounts that cannot be held accountable but have a huge influence begin to emerge. In some cases, including the one experienced by INDODAX, these accounts carry out defamation and black campaigns that are detrimental, both for companies and individuals. Therefore, more stringent regulation and supervision are needed so that the crypto ecosystem remains healthy and integral," he said.

According to him, on the one hand, the role of influencers is very helpful in spreading understanding to the public, but on the other hand, it still requires clear regulations to protect the public.

"When talking about financial assets, it is undeniable that there are parties who take advantage of the moment to the detriment. Therefore, I strongly support the regulation of the authorities so that the situation remains under control and the public is protected. On the other hand, the educational steps taken by influencers and content creators still need to run, as long as they have clear limits and do not harm others," he explained.

In line with these efforts, BLK 2026 also collaborates with influencers and content creators as a concrete step in strengthening the literacy and understanding of the public about crypto assets. This program also presents a series of educational activities in various cities through discussions and workshops involving the community, academics, developers, law enforcement officers, and other stakeholders.

Supporting this initiative, INDODAX continues to encourage comprehensive education through INDODAX Academy, as well as presenting a safe and transparent platform as part of its commitment to increasing literacy and public confidence in the national crypto industry.
