Indonesia Has 24 Athletes Who Will Appear at the 2026 Asian Beach Games
JAKARTA - A total of 24 athletes are included in the Indonesian team to appear at the 2026 Asian Beach Games (ABG) which will take place this month.
The tournament will be held on April 22-30, 2026 in Sanya, China. Indonesian athletes who depart there will compete in three sports, namely rock climbing, 3 X 3 basketball, and beach volleyball.
Chef de Mission (CdM Krisna Bayu) will lead the Indonesian Contingent. He said that all athletes have undergone intensive preparations for the tournament.
"In addition to technical readiness, non-technical readiness is a big concern for us," said the former national judoka in a statement received.
The non-technical preparations referred to are ensuring that athletes and officials receive anti-doping education through the ADEL (Anti-Doping Education and Learning) program.
In addition, they also received training related to the code of conduct and safeguarding to ensure compliance with ethical standards and protection during the event.
The Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia) has held a coordination meeting with representatives of sports branches to ensure the athletes' readiness ahead of departure.
From the results of the evaluation, the athletes were assessed to be in a ready state and continue to mature the physical, technical, and mental aspects of facing competition at the Asian level.
Bayu emphasized that the solid preparations made the Indonesian team very optimistic about being able to perform optimally and achieve the best results at the 2026 Sanya Asian Beach Games.
"We come not only to compete, but to bring the name of Indonesia. Show the best attitude, sportsmanship, and achievements on the Asian stage," he said.
