Minister of Finance: Rp11 Trillion from the PKH Task Force Can Fill the Deficit and Strengthen the Fiscal

JAKARTA - Finance Minister (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said the money worth Rp. 11.4 trillion handed over by the Forest Area Control Task Force (Satgas PKH) to the government could fill the deficit in the State Budget and Expenditure (APBN) and strengthen the fiscal position.

"If there is additional income from PKH, it is like a windfall profit for the government that makes our budget better and more resistant," Purbaya told reporters at the Attorney General's Office, Jakarta, Friday, April 10, reported by ANTARA.

He explained that the funds from the crackdown could support many fiscal needs. In addition to covering the state budget deficit, the funds can also be used to finance government development programs that still require additional support.

"It can (fill the deficit). Or it can be used, maybe most of it for development programs that were cut yesterday, including for the prosecutor's office, schools, later some of it for the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) maybe, but not much," said Purbayamenjelaskan.

The state treasurer also said there was still the potential for additional revenue from law enforcement in the future, such as the crackdown on underinvoicing carried out by the Ministry of Finance.

"But in the pipeline, I see there will still be a lot. This is only the PKH Task Force, then there will be invoicing and others. It can be a lot later, because we will enforce the law correctly. So, the budget is safe," he said.
