Minister of Transportation Dudy Minta KAI Beautify Bogor-Arah KRL Station

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi asked PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI to beautify the electric train station (KRL) or Commuter Line towards Bogor. According to him, the current station conditions are not worthy.

"Actually, I asked for the priority to be the stations. Bogor's stations are ugly. I ask KAI to renovate, yes, to certify the stations that go to Bogor," Dudy told reporters, writing Friday, April 10.

In addition, for other crossings such as Rangkasbitung, the government has previously encouraged the replacement of the train fleet. However, this step depends on the readiness of the electrification infrastructure.

Dudy said that with the increase in electrification, the number of carriages in one train set could be increased, so that the acute capacity would also increase. In fact, the CLI-125 train set made in China can also be used on the Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung line.

For information, the Chinese-made CLI-125 train currently only serves the Bogor and Bekasi lines. Meanwhile, Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung has not yet.

"If it's towards Rangkas, I ask that the train be replaced. But the train is replaced if the electrification can be replaced as well, if after being upgraded then the train serving Bekasi, it's big, it's owned by China. Can be on the green line with the same type of train," he explained.

Dudy also highlighted the importance of electricity supply support to support the development of electrification of railway lines. For this reason, the government will work with PLN so that the project runs optimally.

"Yes, this is why we will work together with PLN, so that the increase in electrification has business benefits for PLN. And PLN yesterday when we talked about those in Cicalengka, they were interested. With electrification on the green line, then Cicalengka, and Cikarang-Cikampek, they are very interested," said Dudy.
