NTB Prosecutor 'Checks' 3 Prosecutors Allegedly Extorting Pajo Puluhan Juta Camat via Zoom

MATARAM - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has examined three prosecutors who had served in the Dompu District Attorney's Office for alleged extortion against Pajo Sub-district Head, Imran.

Head of the NTB Prosecutor's Office Wahyudi said the examination was still a clarification of the issues that occurred when Imran was a suspect in the abuse case.

"We have clarified it through the zoom because it is far away," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 10.

The clarification, he said, was under the control of the NTB Attorney General's Supervision Unit. In addition to clarification, a review was also carried out on all forms of information that the prosecutor's team included in the Intelligence Unit.

"So, we have handled this issue, in addition to clarification, we also reviewed the information," he said.

Kajati stated that his party could not determine how long the series of examinations would take until they found out whether there was or was not a violation of the prosecutor's ethics leading to the criminal act.

"What is clear, we do not tolerate deviant acts. My members must follow the tracks according to existing rules. Integrity must be maintained," he said.

Previously, the Head of the Intelligence Section of the Dompu District Attorney's Office, Danny Curia Novitawan, said his party had been cooperative by handing over all documents and information about this alleged extortion to the NTB Attorney General's Supervision Unit.

He emphasized that this attitude was a form of commitment by the Dompu District Attorney's Office in enforcing the rules.

This alleged extortion arose from the process of executing Imran's detention for the inkrahdari ruling of the local court. At that moment, Imran admitted that he had been asked for tens of millions of money by three prosecutors at the Dompu District Court.

The Pajo Sub-district Head admitted that he was asked for Rp. 30 million with the pretext that the money could reduce the sentence. However, at that time he only gave Rp. 20 million which was handed over directly at the Dompu District Attorney's Office.

He admitted that he had made peaceful efforts with the victim so that the problem had been resolved. However, the legal process continued until he had to undergo detention, and he felt that he had been cheated and extorted by the law enforcement officers.

The three prosecutors suspected of extortion are the former Head of the Intelligence Section of the Dompu District Attorney's Office with the initials J, the former Head of the General Criminal Section of the Dompu District Attorney's Office with the initials K, and the former Head of the Special Criminal Section of the Dompu District Attorney's Office with the initials IS.

When Imran revealed this problem, the three prosecutors had already changed their duties.
