Minimarket thief in Tulungagung who broke the wall was arrested by the police
Satreskrim Tulungagung Police, East Java, arrested a group of suspected thieves of Alfamart minimarket with a modus operandi of breaking through the wall in the local area.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tulungagung Police, AKP Andi Wiranata Tamba, said that the perpetrators numbered more than one person and were still under development.
"The exact number cannot be conveyed because it is still under development, but more than one perpetrator has been arrested," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 10.
He emphasized that all the perpetrators were civilians and not members of the military as in similar cases that had previously been revealed.
The arrest was made outside Tulungagung and the perpetrator was from outside the city.
The police are also still investigating the possibility that the network is active in other areas.
Based on the investigation, this gang was involved in two similar theft cases in Ringinpitu, Kedungwaru District and Doroampel, Sumbergempol District.
In the action, the perpetrator broke through the building's wall to enter the store and took a number of items such as cigarettes, baby milk and cosmetics.
The losses due to the action are estimated to reach around IDR 92.6 million.
