LAPD Acquires BSS Rp59 M, Pivots to Mining Services Business

PT Leyand International Tbk (LAPD) officially acquired 99 percent of PT Bersaudara Sinergi Sejahtera (BSS) worth Rp59.43 billion.

This step is a strong signal of the company's transformation into the mining services sector, which is considered to have more stable growth prospects.

Founder and President Director of PT JSI Sinergi Mas, Jamal Abdul Nasir Bamadhaj, said this acquisition is part of a long-term strategy to build an integrated mining service platform.

"This is not just a corporate action, but a strategic move to enter a sector with a high barrier to entry and recurring contract-based revenue," he said.

BSS is known as a full-service mining contractor operating in East Kalimantan and South Kalimantan. This company has a complete business line ranging from overburden removal, hauling, to production.

The entry of the LAPD into this sector is considered to open up new growth opportunities, in line with the high demand for mining services amid the still strong national energy sector.

In the future, the synergy between LAPD and BSS is expected to drive long-term contract-based revenue, improve operational efficiency, and expand new contract opportunities.

With this business model change, the market has the potential to see a re-rating of LAPD's valuation, as the visibility of revenue and the more stable business profile increase.
