Prabowo: Who Blocks the PKH Task Force Means Blocking the President, Can Be Sentenced

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto issued a stern warning to anyone who obstructs the work of the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (PKH).

In front of law enforcement officers at the Attorney General's Office, Friday, April 10, Prabowo emphasized that threats against task force members are tantamount to threats against the president.

Prabowo said he received reports that members of the PKH Task Force had received threats and intimidation while working in the field. According to him, this cannot be taken lightly.

"If someone threatens a member of the PKH Task Force, he threatens the President of the Republic of Indonesia. If someone obstructs the work of the PKH Task Force, he obstructs the work of the President of the Republic of Indonesia," said Prabowo.

He emphasized that he would use all the authority granted by the 1945 Constitution to enforce the law. The President also ordered the Attorney General to act firmly against those who were not willing to cooperate.

"He doesn't want to cooperate, he is imprisoned. We are not hesitant and we are not afraid," he said.

Prabowo associated the tough stance with the leakage of state wealth which he said was still happening. He said smuggling, illegal mining, and illegal plantations were practices that must be stopped. The President also ordered the TNI Commander, the National Police Chief, and the Minister of Finance to use all the authority they had to stop smuggling.

The President reminded that the PKH Task Force was formed through Presidential Regulation Number 5 of 2025, which he issued three months after receiving the mandate. Therefore, he emphasized that he would not give room for anyone who tried to hinder the work of the task force.
