President: The State Saves Rp31.3 Trillion, Can Repair 34,000 Schools
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto stated that the government had saved Rp31.3 trillion in cash state funds in one and a half years of his administration. The figure comes from a series of actions taken by the Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH) and handling other cases related to saving state finances.
In a speech at the Attorney General's Office, Friday, April 10, Prabowo detailed that the rescue took place in three stages. In October 2025, the government saved Rp13.255 trillion from the criminal case of corruption in the export facility of crude palm oil and its derivatives. Two months later, in December 2025, the government again saved Rp6.625 trillion. Then, on April 10, 2026, the government stated that it had succeeded in saving another Rp11.420 trillion.
"Thus, the total cash that we have managed to save until today is IDR 31.3 trillion," said Prabowo.
Prabowo emphasized that the figure was not merely a record of law enforcement. According to him, the value can be used to improve 34,000 schools throughout Indonesia. He compared, last year the government was only able to improve 17,000 schools.
The President also said that the funds could be used to renovate more than 500,000 houses for low-income people, which means that it has the potential to benefit around 2 million people.
For Prabowo, the crux of the matter is simple: money that the state manages to save means it is no longer lost to the wrong hands. "If we don't save it, this money is lost. This money cannot be used by citizens, by our people," he said.
