Pregnant Woman Stabbed In Palangka Raya Taken, Turns Out Perpetrators Intention To Steal
PALANGKA RAYA - A joint police team arrested the perpetrator who stabbed a pregnant woman, Taibah (30) in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan. The perpetrator apparently intended to steal and eventually stabbed the victim.
The perpetrator with the initials Y (17) was arrested while on Jalan Cemara Labat II, Pahandut Seberang, Palangka Raya, Saturday, June 5 afternoon.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Palangka Raya Police, Kompol Ritman TA Gultom, revealed that the perpetrator was arrested after his personnel conducted an investigation and gathered information from eyewitnesses and local residents.
"The incident occurred at around 13.30 WIB and the perpetrator was finally arrested at 16.00 WIB, who has now been secured at the Palangka Raya Police Headquarters for further investigation," said Commissioner Ritman, quoted from the statement from the Palangka Raya Police, Sunday, June 6.
From the young man's arrest, it was known that the perpetrator with the initial Y at the time of the incident tried to steal at a drug store and the practice of a midwife in Pahandut Seberang.
"The investigation process of the perpetrator along with evidence in the form of a knife that he used to injure the victim, has been handed over to the PPA Satreskrim Sub-unit, considering that he is still under the age of 17 years," said Ritman.
Cases of stabbing pregnant women in Palangka Raya are widely shared on social media. The police also informed the police about the process of arresting the perpetrators via social media.
