So the Ambassador of Oman-Yemen, Andi Rahadian, is on a mission for Indonesia when the Middle East geopolitics heats up.

JAKARTA - Amid the continued heating of the Middle East geopolitical temperature, President Prabowo Subianto appointed Andi Rahadian as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Yemen.

This assignment comes at a time when the Gulf region has become one of the most sensitive points in the world's political and trade traffic.

After the inauguration at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, Friday, April 10, Andi emphasized that he would carry out the full mandate from the President to strengthen Indonesia's relations with Oman and Yemen in various strategic sectors.

"I will carry out the duties given by the president to improve bilateral relations in a good and positive way in the fields of politics, economy, society, culture, as well as protocol and consular," said Andi.

Andi's placement in Muscat is not a routine diplomatic duty. Oman holds an important position in the Gulf region, close to the Strait of Hormuz - a vital world shipping route that is often affected by regional tensions. When asked about the possibility of Indonesia's role in helping the smooth flow of ships amid geopolitical escalation, Andi did not give a technical answer, but emphasized that he would carry out all central government directives.

"Inshaallah, as conveyed by the president, we will implement all directions from the center," he said.
