In addition to Deepal S05, Changan is set to launch 2 other models this year

Changan Indonesia is preparing an aggressive move by presenting additional new models throughout this year. A total of three vehicles are planned to be launched, including the Changan Deepal S05 which will strengthen their electrification line in the domestic market.

"Now there are only two, Changan Lumin and Deepal S07," said Changan Indonesia CEO Setiawan Surya in South Jakarta, Thursday, April 9.

According to him, the presence of the new models will expand the options for consumers, both in terms of segments and variants. "So this year we plan to bring in 3 models, maybe the variants will be 7 variants, the plan," he added.

On the other hand, Head of Marketing Changan Indonesia Ridjal Mulyadi, explained that S05 will carry REEV (Range Extended Electric Vehicle) technology. In this system, the gasoline engine serves as a generator to charge the battery, while the wheel drive completely relies on an electric motor.

Even though it still uses a gasoline engine, Ridjal emphasized that the driving character is still identical to an electric car. "One of the S05 EREEV models, hopefully it will be a solution for us to accommodate the existing problems," said Ridjal.

He assessed that one of the main obstacles to pure electric vehicles in Indonesia is that the charging infrastructure has not yet been completed. Therefore, the EREEV technology on S05 is expected to be an alternative that bridges the needs of consumers.

"It gives a smooth and instant driving sensation as if it were an EV vehicle, but it gives flexibility thanks to the generator engine," he explained again.

With this concept, users are no longer overshadowed by concerns about mileage when traveling long distances. When the battery is low and you can't find a charging facility, the gasoline engine will automatically activate to generate electricity.

"The launch of SO5 will be further informed. But this will be launched this year as well. The month and time will be announced as soon as possible to friends, the price will be announced in full at the launch, including specifications," said Ridjal.

In terms of dimensions, the Deepal S05 REEV has a length of 4,620 mm, a width of 1,900 mm, a height of 1,600 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,880 mm. These proportions create a balanced and modern look.

The support of the 18-inch rim also strengthens the sporty character while presenting a solid stance on the road. The back features a sleek LED lamp design that emphasizes the futuristic impression.

Meanwhile, the diffuser on the bumper not only serves an aesthetic function, but also helps improve the vehicle's aerodynamics. Overall, this design is able to produce a drag coefficient of up to 0.25 Cd, which has an impact on increased energy efficiency and driving stability.
